Basic Instructions

Or how to live your life properly.

Most webcomics are funny, most take the time to make us relax. All well and good, but here is a comic that breaks the mold but I think even the great Vincent Ouroboros himself would say this comic does it in a good way.  (Please Note that Vincent Ouroboros was not contacted and his opinion may vary. And probably does) This webcomic is about how to do simple stuff, therefore its name Basic Instructions.

The artist uses the medium of webcomics to teach the reader (thats you and me) on how to live a successful life. Topics that are taught include How to be patient, and How to destroy society. Both you young whippersnappers need to learn.

The “plot” follows the bald hero dealing with situations that constantly perplex us the reader and Scott Meyer deals with them with taking the mickey out of the whole scenario. The problem never goes away but you feel it does. So yes this comic is on of the funny relaxing ones but you feel inside that you are learning something new. Sort of like high school or University.

The comics art is not bad even though it looks cut and pasted alot of the time you can tell that Scott Meyer has put alot of effort into it. It is in black and white but as it is published in the Seattle Weekly I think we can let this one go. Plus black and white helps let the knowledge of the ages get through (thats why all good textbooks are in black and white (honest) ).

Anyway its a comic that worth a look for the comedy and you might learn something. Now if only he did a how to write a webcomic review one…
