As many folks know, Drunk Duck has been in desperate need of a server upgrade for several weeks now. This was delayed as the server stuff is in Houston, which had a hurricane to recover from.
Late Sunday night, the server move happened. Everything from Friday, Saturday, and Sunday was lost (due to the site save that was used). However, DD is now back up and running more-or-less smoothly. There are a few bugs happening here and there, which we are trying to keep on top of, and would appreciate being told if something weird is happening to you on the site since the move. (Things that were broken before don’t count.)
Feaured comics are put on hold until Sept 29- A, to give the current features (which were harmed by the site’s poor performance) more time in the spotlight, and B, to make sure things are running right again.
There are a number of bugs happening on the site which are related to the server move- we’ve been told we are just going to have to wait (gee, never heard that from Plat before) because their guys are busy working on other things right now.

Grin ‘n Spirit reached 300 comics on Monday! Congrats, ghostrunner!
not_too_shabby’s comic The Bend reached 100 pages on Saturday! (And then again on Monday, because everything from Saturday went poof.) So double congrats! He says he has ‘plenty more where that came from. Really. Plenty.’ (Is that a threat?)
Who else has reached 100 pages? The Villain Next Door! argonsassitant wrote:
The Villain Next Door has reached 100 pages and is starting book 4. The conclusion of Galaxy Ghost makes up this issue. This story has been spread out through 2 books, now it is all going to come to a drag out kick ass issue with pure action!
Mustn’t forget Crossing Death by BlkKnight, that reached 100 pages on Monday too!
Arachnid Goddess (rated A) by Chernobog, has reached 50 pages! (Again, technically twice!)
seedyk’s Seedy K has also hit 50 pages! That’s a lot of stripping! (seedy… stripping…)

Monday’s featured comic is Panthea Obscura!
Mythical families that control different aspects of existence are a familiar concept. This family in particular made a vow to stop interfering with humans and to make the humans forget them. However, it’s been thousands of years and (most of them) would like to have their godhood back. A mom who can ALWAYS tell whether you’re lying sounds like a pretty scary god actually. It’s not quite so simple- there’s always a black sheep in the family who would much rather kill everyone than impress them with superheroic powers.

News and many milestones! Also, don’t send skoolmunkee news until the 24th
I’m going on vacation next week and won’t be back until the 24th. I’m only going to get online if I’m extremely bored (which isn’t going to happen), so sending me news announcements until then will be completely futile. Don’t do it! Please send any news, requests for help, etc, to either SpANG! or ozoneocean
~Beeeeeeep~
A huge apology to Sameth, because I was supposed to announce that Jix reached 200 pages about a month ago, and I never did. :[ But here you are now! 200 pages is pretty big, go visit the comic and make Sameth happy.
Now, In order of relative distance from the centre of the Horsehead Nebula:
Froobius's Ezta Book Two has reached 25 pages! Also apparently they went from 19 pages to 46 pages in eight seconds. That is kind of like driving on the highway and not paying much attention, and realizing that there was a sign back there and maybe you should have read it. Fear not, Froobius, as your next milepost is already within sight!
Fred Peterson the Mighty Warlord Book 1 has just hit 500 pages! (500 pages and it's still Book 1? This sounds like a huge story!) Congrats and keep them coming, LanceDanger!
warefish's [http://www.drunkduck.com/Red_Point]Red Point[/url] has reached its 25th page! Is a warefish poisonous?
Another fish-related milestone, Angelfish by Luminous, has reached 50 pages this week!
drdoobious tells me that his comic Vita de Vetro has reached (gone past really) 100 pages! So, drdoobious, what is your doctorate in?
johnkeating’s Breaking the Ice has a bit of publishing news:
johnkeating wrote:
The first 48 strips of my comic Breaking the Ice has been published by Hopper Comics as a one shot comic book. It’s available at Austin Books & Comics and Bee Hive Comics in Austin, TX right now as well as online at ComixPress.com.I’ll also be doing a book signing at Collector’s Paradise in Winnetka, CA Oct 22 and will be at Wizard World Texas Nov 7-9 promoting and signing the book.
Lastly, but not leastly, Bomb Shelter Comics has begun their annual Webcomic Idol competition, where you guys get to battle it out for a membership in their collective. Cool comics (and former duckers) like Slackerz, Hockey Zombie, Templar AZ, and Horribleville, so there is some illustrious company!

Monday’s featured comic is Sophia Awakening!
In the future, AI technology has been cracked and there are a number of projects underway… including the mysterious Sophia, who is currently in danger as her lab and its scientists are under seige from a group of soldiers who want to stop them. This all has very much to do with some events and people from just a few years in the past, and the author skillfully intersperses these different plot lines. Amazing art and compelling writing, there are still very many questions to be answered!

Hello everyone, I am back! Actually I have been back for almost 2 weeks now (geez) but for some reason I spent most of my free time playing on my 360. Oblivion is a WONDERFUL time waster. I love those Ayleid ruins.
Ozone had a pretty good idea with these thumbnails (although it’s sad they don’t wrap or something at least) so, although it’s a little extra work for poor little old me, I will keep on with them because I CARE!
Community Stuff!

Hey guys! This year’s Drunk Duck Secret Santa is ON! Hurry and sign up (you do a picture, you get a picture!) and they’re always looking for people willing to do a second pic in case someone needs to drop out, or in case there is a DEADBEAT. Deadbeats the people who vanish, or who simply don’t do their half… they’re barred from entering the next year, and we’re going to announce their names in a newspost afterward just so everyone knows what a deadbeat they are! So, SECRET SANTA IS AWESOME AND FUN. BUT NO DEADBEATS OK BECAUSE THAT IS NOT FUN.

PIT_FACE’s community project V.U.S. (an acronym for “Viscious Utter Shit”), where creators can be horrible to other people’s characters, has passed the 25 page mark! Congrats, and as far as I’m aware they’re still taking new participants!
Milestones!

Kung Fu Komix by Nickguy hit 25 pages a while back but somehow it got left out of the announcements then, so here it is now! 25 pages! Probably more by now!

MysteriousJeff’s Poketto Monsutaa Special Super Ex Adventure XXXVX The Chronicles of Red Blue Green and a Bunch of Other Kids With Colors for Names (I think that’s all) has reached 100 pages! Like many delicious food additives, the author cautions that “reading this comic is not a suitable substitute for purchasing the original comic”. Take that as you will!

The Chronicles of Wyrden by Doctor Shadow has also reached 100 pages! It has a shorter title, I know, but there’s things like nudity in it!

Also at 100 pages is Rainbow Connection by I am Candyman! He cautions that the comic is gay themed, although not too inappropriate. So I say, you raging homophones might not want to click on it! Everyone else, feel free!

The loverly CQB Epics by JoeL_CQB reached 50 pages yesterday! “And it’s bloody!”

Pixel by Sean C has surpassed 25 comics, and also hit the half-year mark! Congrats to you!

Also at 25 pages we’ve got Froobius’s Walter Babble! “Froobius” is just a fun word to say, don’t you think?
Today’s featured comic is Off The Grid!
Mitch and Steve are roomates living in Austin. They get along as well as you could expect - Steve’s idea of a ‘veggie friendly’ meal for Mitch is a chili dog with sprouts on top; Mitch doesn’t care how cruel the girl he’s sleeping with is to Steve, because she’s hot. There’s a little bit of everything here: geeks, anti-geeks, trucks, music, Lance Armstrong…. The comic isn’t about class struggle, it’s about struggling to have some class.

Go A Viking is an epic fantasy with Vikings, magic, blood, battle, and high adventure! By Bravo1102, this detailed saga features a mature, intelligent storyline, with compelling characters. But most striking of all is that it’s all done with photos of meticulously dressed and posed figurines in historically accurate gear on perfectly staged and lit sets! It’s like a movie. Take heed: this comic has an M rating.

Drunk Duck Secret Santa Signups!

Crossover High by Maverik & co. has been on Drunk Duck for a year! We’re glad to have you.

JP’s Bearly Abel has hit the 25 page mark! Congrats on the first milestone!
The following comics are 50 pages old!

Awesome by therealtj (and it’s also halfway over, so running out of time, folks)
Ryushin’s Armageddon Ro!
Barely Listening by Wills42, and is also 1 year old on the 17th!
… and Walter Babble by Froobius!
Now for the 75′ers

Safety Man by Signz, and drinks are on him!
one_am’s One A.M.!
Stickfodder’s Stickfodder was Friday, and continues the ongoing storyline!

Blitzkrieg1701’s Far Out There is 100 pages deep! He says it is “a scifi comedy sort of like what Futurama, Red Dwarf, or The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy would be like if they were less witty and original.” Now that’s advertising! …?

@$$hole! by trevoramueller turned 150 on Friday, which was also two days after his birthday, and also marks the conclusion of the photo-story arc that got the comic nominated for Best Photo Comic in the 2008 DD Awards!
These comics are swimming in pages, someone save them

ipokino’s Robot Wars has hit the 200 page mark! They also have six issues and one graphic nove in print for anyone who likes their comics on paper in full color!
Stick Figure Comics by lidless_i has reached 300 pages!
Th_Mole’s The One Panel Case Files has reached 300 “without any gaps, stumbling, or hiatus”! Now that’s an achievement.
However I’m to warn any readers that he will be dropping continuity here on out in favor of a traditional one-panel format, because he has found that “continuity and single-panel strips don’t mix.” Hopefully that didn’t scare you off, because “The series is a parody of macabre and noir, and is about a haunted bohemian heiress, a psychic mystic con-artist, a supposedly good mad genius, and a hard-boiled teddy bear.”
