Cartoon Brew (one of the many blogs I read frequently) brought this to my attention. A bunch of animators have started a webcomic site. Every comic there has a pretty interesting retro-feel to it.

Some of the discussion on the Cartoon Brew post amuse me though. This probably stands out as one of my favorites.

I these guys are a bunch of pioneers! It takes a whole bunch of organization and love for the craft to do a comic and even more so to set something up online! Everything about this project is a awesome and as a plus the talent on DUMM is extraordinary! Keep up the good work guys!!!!

I take it this person hasn’t really seen a webcomic before. I always find it amusing when someone from animation or print comics jumps into the webcomic circle, they’re hailed as a visionary. Of course, there is the typical “I hate webcomics” person in the discussion as well.

I hate webcomics as a rule, but this site looks fun and the comics are certainly entertaining and different, so maybe there can be an exception to the rule now and then!

Naturally, there is a lot of John K. hate since a couple of the participants of Dumm Comics have worked with him in the past. I find John K. to be interesting, if not a bit of a blowhard at times, nothing to hate really.

Anyway, be sure to check out Dumm Comics and share your thoughts with us here.

EDIT: Cartoon Brew just posted a roundtable with the artists. Interesting, I may have some further reactions later.
