Hey, kids! Ian Jay here. Just poppin’ my head in on the front page to announce that I have a new all-purpose webcomics site: IANJAY.net!

On IANJAY.net will be posted the rest of Try Everything Once, as well as my other upcoming webcomics projects (Near High Noon, Epiphany, and whatever else I happen to think of) and maybe some art and writing and videos and music and whatnot, whatever I feel like sticking on there. It’s kind of a catch-all site for the plethora of projects I have running right now. If you’re already a reader, BOOKMARK THAT LINK. If not, mosey on over there and get acquainted with my work, AND THEN BOOKMARK IT ANYWAYS. (Even if you don’t like it. By hook or by crook, I am going to ram my imagination down your esophagus even if it kills us.)

ALSO, COMING SOON TO THE SCIENTEERS FRONT PAGE, a series of informative videos on the topic of webcomics, filmed by me and starring a friend and webcomics enthusiast who just moved into downtown Savannah. Stay tuned, folks…

high-moon-and-dd-news

There’s a new installment of HIGH MOON, which you can find at Zuda via this brand spanking new url: http://www.highmooncomic.com You can also check out our news and production blog here: http://www.thehighmoonrises.com

It’s always good to hear from David, thanks man, keep up the good work!

Next we have some DD News from Skoolmunkee:

Sub-Standard Comics by OrionPax6 (how many comics are out there with self-depreciating names like that? Come on guys, comics are awesome!) has reached 175 pages! Wooo!

HalJones has a comic named Beyond Human and it has reached 75 pages today! It’s great, check it out!

The Uncanny Uper Dave by Bittenbymonk will reached 100 pages on Friday! I have to admit that ‘uper’ is a more fun word to say than ’super’…

Drunk Duck Creator Interviews Extravaganza continues! (If you dunno what that is, click here.

Today’s interview is of Seventy2 of Ninja Wedding and The Good Life, conducted by Bocaj of Laughing Out Loud Zombies, Guy in a Dinosaur Costume, and others!

Quote: How much time does it take for you to draw a comic?

“I take about 5 minutes to decide what I want on the paper, then I leave. I come back a couple hours later, and spend about 1-2 hours doing the initial drawing. Then it sits on the table for ever. Then the night before, I ink it and shade it in about 1-1/2 hours. So total it’s like 3-4 hours. Or like 5 days.”

Read the rest of the interview in its thread in the Interviews forum!

Lastly, I know the updates have been a bit slow lately, and not really encompassing as much of the webcomic scene as we should be doing. I’ll do my best to keep up more. If you’re a reader of the blog and would like to help, please send us any-news you find, big or small. Thank you.

What’s up now?

whats-up-now

Well, you can see that hpkomics.com will be going through some changes. It’s becoming a general news site and portfolio for myself. Cosmic Dash meanwhile is getting it’s own site with some interesting features planned out for it.

This site will still also feature sketchbook updates, however I cleared out most of the old batch of them because they were mostly concerning Cosmic Dash related stuff, the development of the project will remain on it’s own site, but generalized sketches from said project are fair game.

Don’t know if that made much sense, but oh well.

That being said, I’m actually not going to be updating the comic this week. I have some things that need to be done, however once those things are taken care of, I’ll jump right back in.
